Managers Sara and Andrew Wisdom will be opening for summer activities at their centre at Townsend Works on Puxton Lane during July and August prior to fully opening for the new school term. June 22, 2010New Centre opens in LoughboroughThe open day for the First Class Learning (FCL) Centre in Loughborough got off to a great start last Saturday at Gorse Covert Community Centre.
Parents and children attended the event to find out more and enrol onto the FCL Maths and English programmes.
May 23, 2010New Sponsors bring first class facilities to Maltby.Maltby Cricket Club is delighted to announce that the club’s new electronic scoreboard has been sponsored by local education provider First Class Learning. The new scoreboard is part of Maltby’s development programme that has seen the club upgrade its facilities prior to joining the North Yorkshire and South Durham League in 2010.
Chris Jones of First Class Learning said, “First Class Learning, which has centres across the region, is about raising young people’s attainment in maths and English. We very much wanted to associate ourselves with such a thriving club as Maltby.” Almost 100 young people are involved with the club, which helps develop their sporting prowess alongside other personal skills such as teamwork and leadership. Chris added, “We at First Class Learning admire and share this ethos.” Maltby Cricket Club Chairman Martin Barber stated, “The scoreboard is a magnificent addition to our facilities. The club has made significant progress over the last few years and I am determined that our facilities should be the best possible. We are extremely grateful to be associated with First Class Learning who share our passion for bringing the best out of youngsters.” The scoreboard was officially ‘opened’ by Chris Jones of First Class Learning prior to the North Yorkshire Area Cricket Council Under 11 fixture against Marske on 21 May. May 1, 2010Dr. Mallika Bohm Opens New Rotherham CentreAfter a very successful year with her Centre in Broom Lane, Dr. Mallika Bohm will be opening the doors to her new Centre at the Phoenix Sports Centre, Pavillion Lane, Brinsworth. For a year now, Dr Bohm has helped and supported students in the local community with both maths and English tuition at her Tuesday class at Broom Methodist Church in Broom Lane but with enquiries coming from further afield, Dr Bohm has decided to open a new Centre in Brinsworth. Enquires have been coming in from Brinsworth and the surrounding area including Catcliffe, Treeton, Aston, Sheffield and as far away as Chapeltown. “I needed another venue with easy access for those members of the community that live either side of the M1″, said Dr Bohm. “My new Monday Class at the Pheonix Sport Centre and Pavilion in Brinsworth is just the place; so easy for my students to get to.” Dr Bohm will be hosting an open event at her new venue this Monday, May 3rd from 3.30pm. Chalfont St Peter Centre Leading up to starting at FCL, Sangita ran a popular maths and English after-school centre of 140 students for 7 years. For the last six months she has established a new centre in North-West London using the FCL programme and is now also opening in Chalfont St Peter.
