We’ve already started using the materials and the response has been great. The activities are fun and parents enjoy them as well. All students in my class will have access to work from reception to KS3 and I will be able to monitor what they have done and how well they have done it.
Another fantastic addition to the already brilliant First Class Learning study programmes!

The tips are in the back of the handbook and can also be used generally to help students who find it difficult to think of good vocabulary or organise their ideas. There are also examples of completed writing tasks to help students see what is required.

Yes, it was great fun and so lovely to meet up with friends again. My highlight was on Friday, when I was lucky enough to attend the National Literacy Forum. The purpose of the day was to produce a manifesto publication about the future of reading. I’ll keep everyone posted. We had some interesting discussions and heard some great speakers; author Aidan Chambers, Professor David Crystal, Wendy Cooling from Bookstart and – best of all – Michael Rosen, whose talk was entertaining, stimulating and provocative. Just brilliant!

A wonderful experience and quite unlike any conference that I’ve attended with other organisations. The willingness to listen to class managers and learn from their experiences was very refreshing.
