Raadia Fatima, Maths and English tutor at the Ilford Town First Class Learning Centre, is hosting an open day on Saturday 16th July from 11:00am to 1:15pm.

Ilford Centre Open Day

Since opening in December 2010, the Ilford maths and English tuition centre has been holding classes on Thursdays at St Teresa R C Church on Brook Road, Newbury Park, but Saturday’s open day gave local parents an opportunity to view FCL maths and English resources and to meet the centre manager Ruby Karunakaran who has worked as a Maths Tutor in Sri Lankan Universities and played many roles in International Non Governmental Organizations, including Save the Children and UNICEF.

The centre was officially opened by The Deputy Mayor of Redbridge, Cllr Ruth Kim Clark, seen her with Centre Manager Ruby Karunakarn.

In her speech Cllr Clark said, “I am delighted that children in Ilford now have the opportunity to improve their Maths and English skills through the medium of First Class Learning. The Ilford First Class Learning Centre is one of a number of centres which are opening in the London area to assist children to excel through education. I wish Ruby every success with her new venture and thank her for bringing such an opportunity to the local community”.

Among the many managers from neighbouring centres on hand to help out and answer questions were Stephen Bell from the Loughton Centres and Janice Crimes from the Enfield Town Centre. During the busy afternoon many parents registered their children at the centre for maths and English tuition.

Ilford Centre Opening

First Class Learning is coming to Ilford! Manager Ruby Karunakaran will be opening her First Class Learning centre in Ilford in time for the Autumn term.

Sri Lanka born Ruby, an experienced lecturer in mathematics who has worked as a Learning and Impact assessment advisor for Save the Children UK, is now enrolling students to start in September.
