Maths and English Tuition at Harrow Weald

Welcome to First Class Learning Harrow Weald, where children learn to succeed. We are delighted to support children in the local community, of all ages and abilities, with both maths and English tuition.

How we work

Our First Class Learning Centre Manager will call you to discuss how we can help your child with maths and English. They will then assist your child to complete an assessment to determine which path is most suitable for them. Once we have established your child's needs, we will put together a bespoke course of action that will support and encourage your child's learning.

First Class Learning Harrow Weald is run by Dr Omar Anwar and Soillah Anwar. Having come from decades long experiences in tutoring and medicine, they are incredibly experienced and passionate about education and educational psychology. Combining the First Class Learning curriculum with this, they hope to give back to the local community and help children unlock their potential but most importantly their passion for learning.

Maths

The First Class Learning maths programme is designed to equip your child with the fundamental skills required for success in school mathematics. Using a range of resources, it covers all the essential areas of the school curriculum.

English

Our English programme concentrates on reading, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, punctuation, creative writing and handwriting. The initial diagnostic testing assesses the child's needs so that we can provide an individualised programme.

Science

Our comprehensive science programme will develop your child's knowledge and the skills required as part of their school curriculum. The programme has a proven record for improving results and encourages enjoyment in learning.

FAQ

How does FCL differ to 1:1 tutoring?

FCL offers structure and daily practice, with a ‘little and often’ approach, enabling the child to retain what they have learnt and gain confidence with ease. It also develops good study habits and independent learning so that they don’t become dependent on others teaching them.

How will FCL help with my child’s school work?

By filling in any gaps they may have and developing their confidence we can change their attitude to a positive one and at the same time give them the skill sets needed to carry through to all school work.

Can I sit with my child while they do their work at the centre?

If your child is worried about coming into their first session, parents can come in to begin with but you won’t need to stay for long. Once they see the friendly faces and welcoming atmosphere, they are happy to stay on their own. We like to encourage independent and confident students.

If I join, am I tied into FCL for a set amount of time?

No, not at all. FCL is primarily a long term programme, not a 'quick fix'. However, there are many reasons why you may need to stop, so I just ask for a month's notice.
