Where is the centre?
The Fleetwood First Class Learning Centre is located at Fleetwood library, Lord Street using the Registry Office entrance and is upstairs in the Meeting Room.
Who runs the centre?
The Centre Class Manager is Judith Roche. Judith is a BA(Hons) English Language, Literature and Writing graduate and holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Primary Education with Qualified Teacher Status. Judith also has experience tutoring children and adults and teaches home educated children. This ensures your child is in capable hands!
When does the centre meet?
Classes are held weekly on Wednesdays between 3.30pm and 6pm. Children can arrive anytime between 3.30pm and 5.40pm. The length of time spent at the centre is usually 20-30 minutes or a little longer if both subjects are being studied. Judith ensures that learning is taken seriously but with enjoyment!
What age groups study with First Class Learning?
First Class Learning is suitable for all ages, from pre-school to 16 and all abilities are welcome! The programmes are suitable for SAT's revision as well as GCSE's. Courses may also suit adults who have specific needs.
Does First Class Learning meet the requirements of the National Curriculum?
Yes! Some after school programmes are used in many different countries and are not designed to cater for a particular curriculum. First Class Learning was developed by a team of educationalists from Scotland and England specifically to support the National Curriculum in England and Wales and the 5-14 programme in Scotland. The First Class Learning programme will take your child from the basics of the subject through to the more demanding aspects of schoolwork. The one to one tuiton provided is reinforced with a weekly programme of homework. The success your child experiences in the early stages allows your child to develop the confidence and independence to tackle work which may have previously seemed too difficult.
