Welcome to the Kirkintilloch & Lenzie First Class Learning Maths & English Study Centre
Where is the Centre?
The Kirkintilloch & Lenzie First Class Learning Centre is located within Lenzie Public Hall and classes run every Tuesday from 4-5pm. The hall is located on Kirkintilloch Road and there is ample parking to the rear of the building.
Who runs the Centre?
The Centre Class Manager is Anna Thompson. Anna is a qualified Primary teacher with experience of teaching in the Scottish education system as well as running after-school classes in Maths and English. With the wealth of experience and expertise that Anna brings to the Study Centre, you can be confident that your child is in capable hands.
What age groups study with First Class Learning?
First Class Learning is suitable for all ages, from pre-school to teens. The majority of students who start are probably of primary school age, but a significant number are secondary school children who have discovered that they are having problems after leaving primary. As a general rule, the earlier the child starts the better. If you have the slightest concern that your child is not performing at school to the maximum of their capabilities, don't leave it until it is too late. Contact us now!
Does First Class Learning address the requirements of A Curriculum for Excellence?
Yes. Some after school programmes are used in many different countries and are not designed to cater for a particular curriculum. First Class Learning was developed by a team of educationalists from Scotland and England specifically to support the 5-14 programme in Scotland and the National Curriculum in England & Wales. The programmes are modified and updated as necessary and reflect relevant curriculum changes, including A Curriculum for Excellence. Using a combination of carefully structured worksheets and textbooks, the First Class Learning programme will take your child from the basics of the subject through to the more demanding aspects of school work. The success that your child will experience in the early stages will provide the confidence to tackle work which previously may have seemed too difficult.
