Children, parents, grandparents and dignitaries came together to celebrate the opening of the First Class Learning Centre in Edmonton.

Learning really is fun at First Class Learning!

"I love coming to the First Class Learning centre"!

"My dad helps me with my worksheets"

At First Class Learning parents play an important role in praising and encouraging their children at home.

A very warm welcome to the First Class Learning Centre in the community of Edmonton. Whether your child is experiencing problems with their schoolwork, or finding school insufficiently challenging, joining the First Class Learning maths and English programme can help your son or daughter achieve his or her true potential.

Why have maths and English tuition?

  • You want your children to do well at school.
  • You want your children to develop good English and maths skills.
  • You want your children to have the skills they need throughout life.

Parents naturally want their children to succeed in life and many are now increasingly considering the available options for their child’s education and long term development.  Whilst school plays a vital part of any child’s development and growth, many parents recognise that their child needs a variety of experiences to support them to develop the key skills for a successful future.

Maths and English tuition supports children and young people to develop good study habits and can develop a child’s ability to learn independently, which can lead to an increased level of motivation and self confidence.

By enrolling your child at the Edmonton Centre for either maths or English or both subjects, your child will have an opportunity to gain those valuable life skills.

What is the First Class Learning Programme?

The First Class Learning Maths and English Programme has been successfully helping children to learn - and making their school studies easier - since 2003.  The programme has been developed by a UK-based team of educationalists, specifically to help students who are following the National Curriculum in England and Wales (and the Scottish equivalent).

First Class Learning aims to build confidence in children and develop their independent learning ability.  The personalised programme is designed for each child, to take him or her, step-by-step, from the basics in maths and/or English through all the key learning stages in the National Curriculum. Work is set individually, at the pace that is just right for each child, enabling students to progress a step at a time, moving on only after they have understood and mastered a topic. At First Class Learning we believe in 1% steps to 100% success.

At the same time, the programme builds the child’s confidence in and enjoyment of learning and develops his or her ability to learn independently.  As a result, parents of many First Class Learning students not only observe the desired improvement in their child’s maths and/or English, but also an increased performance in their child's other school subjects too.

How can my child join?

The first step is to arrange for your son or daughter to be assessed by the Local Centre Manager. This assessment helps to identify your child’s specific needs and reveals what would be the most appropriate starting point for him or her on the First Class Learning programme.

The assessment meeting is also an ideal opportunity for you and your child to get to know the Local Centre Manager, Julie Bellanfante, and for Julie to get to know you both.  She will explain the programme to you in more detail; tell your child all about the Study Centre so that he or she knows what to expect and answer your questions and discuss any concerns that you may have.  She will also explain what would be expected of you as a parent - your support and encouragement are vital in helping your child gain the most from the programme.

Then, if you decide that you would like your daughter or son to join, Julie will arrange your child’s enrolment.
