Who we are
Welcome to the Burnham on Sea First Class Learning Centre. We support children and adults in the local community with both maths and English tuition and follows the National Curriculum.
Students of all ages attend our study centre held at The King Alfred School 6th Form Centre in Burnham and Highbridge. We cater for learners from primary age through to GCSE and adult students.
Our expert tutors support your child's learning in maths, English or both subjects together in order to help with their school studies, build confidence and develop independent learning skills.
Our English and maths programmes are tailored to learners' individual needs so students move on only when they are confident with a topic. At First Class Learning we believe in 1% steps to 100% success.
How does it work?
The First Class Learning (FCL) tutor will complete a free assessment which will determine your child's curriculum level and the features of FCL will be explained with any questions answered.
If all parties agree that FCL is right for you, your child can start attending classes and gaining the benefits of FCL study which involves regularly attendance at the centre.
In class, they complete a short piece of work which is marked, returned and discussed with the Tutor. Your child will be given a detailed programme of homework, around 10 to 15 minutes a day, to be completed before the next class.
Your next step
If you think that FCL might be right for you please contact your local Centre Manager and arrange for a free assessment. This will be carried out at your home at a time convenient to you and an individual programme of work for your child will be explained.
You will then be able to find out how your child can become one of the growing number in the UK enjoying success with First Class Learning.
Abigail began FCL in year 5 hardly knowing her tables and at a Level 2A. 20 months later she achieved a Level 5C in her SATS!
I got my Level 4s in my SATS! Thank you for all your help and support over the last couple of years.
Dillon's confidence in his English has grown so much in just a few weeks. We have seen such a difference in him.
The going back to basics way of teaching and structured programme works. My son is gaining so much confidence in numeracy.
Well we are all delighted that, as hoped, our daughter has moved up a table for her maths.
I like coming to FCL as I can do all my tables and do division with remainders.
