Who we are
Welcome to the Leeds Roundhay First Class Learning Centre, where children learn to succeed. We are delighted to support children in the local community, of all ages and abilities, with both maths and English tuition.
Students attend our study centre at Oakwood Church (formerly Roundhay Methodist Church) on Springwood Road. We cater for learners from Early Years and primary through to GCSE, offering a varied approach including independent learning and small group/one to one tuition by qualified, experienced tutors. Students also benefit from GCSE, SATS and 11+ preparation and Year 6-7 transition.
Our expert tutors support your child's learning in maths, English, or both subjects together, in order to help with their school performance, build confidence/self-esteem and develop independent learning skills.
Our English and maths programmes are flexible and tailored to learners' individual needs so students move on only when they are confident with a topic. All programmes follow the National Curriculum.
How does it work?
The First Class Learning (FCL) Centre Manager will complete a free assessment which will determine your child's individual areas for development and starting point in the FCL programme. The features of FCL will be explained, with any questions answered.
If all parties agree that FCL is right for your child, they can start attending classes and gaining the benefits of FCL study which involves regular attendance at the centre.
Here they will complete a short piece of work which will be marked, returned and discussed with the Tutor. Your child will be given a detailed programme of homework to be completed before the next class.
Your next step
If you think that FCL might be right for your child, please contact your local Centre Manager and arrange for a free, no-obligation assessment. You will then be able to find out how your child can become one of the growing number in the UK enjoying success with First Class Learning.
The Leeds Roundhay First Class Learning Centre is Ofsted registered. Childcare vouchers from various schemes are accepted and financial assistance with fees may be available to qualifying parents through the tax credits system.
Aiden has improved so much and his teachers have commented on it too. He enjoys maths lessons now instead of worrying.
I like coming to FCL as I can do all my tables and do division with remainders.
I must give FCL tremendous credit as my son has totally overcome his fear of writing. Thank you for constant encouragement.
I can now do division with remainders and fractions! I just love coming to FCL because I get 10 out of 10 in my Maths now.
Well we are all delighted that, as hoped, our daughter has moved up a table for her maths.
Since Aidan has been attending First Class Learning, his reading and handwriting has improved no end.
