Our centre

Welcome to Brighton's First Class Learning Centre. Our expert tutors support children with both maths and English tuition at our local study centres. Our aim is to help children achieve their potential, whether they are struggling, gifted or just need a boost.

Students of all ages and abilities are welcome to attend one of our study centres. We are open on Tuesdays at The Training Centre at Withdean Sports Centre and Mondays at the Church of the Good Shepherd Hall. We cater for learners from Early Years and Primary through to GCSE.

Monthly fees are just £60 per month for the first subject and £50 for a second subject. Sibling fees are £55 per month. There is a one off registration fee of £20.

How it works

We offer a free assessment to understand your child's strengths and the areas that need work. Once we have established your child’s needs, we put together a unique course of action to support your child’s learning and development. Your child will then attend one our study centres each week where they will receive one-to-one support from a tutor when needed but where they will also be encouraged to work independently. Your child will be given small amounts of homework which help to reinforce the skills learnt and help embed any new learning. Our "little and often" approach means that the memory muscle is being given a 'work out' and new learning is more likely to be remembered; this helps to boost confidence. The amount of homework is always discussed regularly with parents and students to ensure that it is manageable. Happy children learn better which means better progress and results!

From the basics of reading, writing and spelling to comprehension and creative writing skills, the First Class Learning English Programme follows principles that make it ideal for all learners, whether primary or secondary. Drawing on a variety of imaginative materials, the programme develops the key skills that allow the learner to read and write fluently, confidently and with enjoyment.
