Welcome to the Milton Keynes East First Class Learning Study Centre. Nadina Murray, qualified teacher and Centre Manager, has been teaching in Milton Keynes schools and running highly successful after-school maths and English classes for 20.
COVID-19 UPDATE:- We continue to offer 1:1 support remotely with video or phone calls and the daily worksheets are posted to you. Due to the Coronavirus, the centre sessions are temporarily closed. However, all students can still make the same progress as if they were coming to the class.
Students of all ages are provided with a structured and individualised daily plan of study of around 10-15 minutes per day. 1:1 support is given whenever it is needed by a video call or phone call and weekly results are collected to ensure mastery and fluency.
Through our structured programmes, Nadina individualises each child’s learning path, which is targeted to close the gaps in their understanding. This therefore helps with their school work, builds confidence and develops independent learning skills, something that is extremely important in today's busy classrooms in schools. Using a range of learning resources, we also support pupils who are preparing for SATs and GCSE exams as well as, offer assistance with homework from school.
Our maths and English programmes directly meet the objectives of the National Curriculum and mirror the methods taught in schools. They are tailored to learners' individual needs so students move on only when they are confident with a topic. Regular testing ensures that the best possible progress is made. The 'little and often' approach, with plenty of practise, really does make a huge difference.
Our First Class Learning Centre Manager will call you to discuss how we can help your child with maths or English. They will then assist your child to complete an assessment to determine which path is most suitable for them. Once we have established your child's needs, we will put together a bespoke course of action that will support and encourage your child's learning. If you feel happy with our plan and that we are the best option for you and your child, they will then be able to start attending regular classes at the centre or online. In these classes they will complete a short piece of work which will be marked, returned and discussed with the Centre Manager, who will give them a detailed programme of homework to be completed before the next class.
