Maths and English Tuition in Sevenoaks

Welcome to the Sevenoaks, Ofsted registered, First Class Learning Centre. Our student numbers have grown rapidly during the pandemic due to the success of the programme and the satisfaction of parents.

Throughout the Coronavirus we have been supporting our students via remote 1 to 1 support, providing them with personalised learning and enabling them to continue to excel. We are Ofsted registered and accept childcare vouchers.

Through our structured programmes, Jacquelyn individualises each child/young person’s learning path, which is targeted to fill any existing gaps in their understanding. This helps with their school work, builds confidence and develops independent learning skills, something that is extremely important in today's busy classrooms.

Our maths and English programmes are flexible and tailored to learners' individual needs and abilities so students move on only when they are confident with a topic. Regular testing ensures that the best possible progress is made. The 'little and often' approach, with plenty of repetition and practise, really does make a huge difference.

How It Works

The first step is to arrange a convenient time for your child/young person to complete some initial assessments. These are done via a video call. The Centre Manager, Jacquelyn, will discuss how she can help your child with their maths or English. • An individualised programme is put together that will support and encourage your child/young person’s learning enabling them to gain confidence and fill in gaps that they may have. • Your child/young person can then start completing the daily worksheets with ongoing support from the Centre Manager whenever it is needed. Our programme is a partnership between First Class Learning, your child and you as parents so communication between all is important.

Student Success

We joined just before lockdown hit, so arranging technology and timings has been a challenge. We wanted to build confidence in Maths firstly, and the team are really engaging, supportive and encouraging. Already making a difference in his confidence - thank you!
They are brilliant at responding to the individual needs of our son. They provide a calm, professional, tailored and friendly support framework within in which effective learning takes place

If I join, am I tied into FCL for a set amount of time?
No, not at all. FCL is primarily a long term programme, not a 'quick fix'. However, there are many reasons why you may need to stop, so I just ask for a month's notice.
How will FCL help with my child/young person’s school work?
By filling in any gaps they may have and developing their confidence we can change their attitude to a positive one and at the same time give them the skill sets needed to carry through to all school work.
How does FCL differ to 1:1 tutoring?
FCL offers structure and daily practice, with a ‘little and often’ approach, enabling the child/young person to retain what they have learnt and gain confidence with ease. It also develops good study habits and independent learning so that they don’t become dependent on others teaching them.
Is there car parking at the centre?
Yes, there is ample car parking because the centre is based on a school premises.
