FCL have personalised lesson plans for maths, English and science as per your child's requirements. I see positive improvements in both of my children’s writing skills and maths. I used to worry a lot about their learning but that has been taken away. Please send your children there if you want them to be confident in school and in everyday life.

Maths, English and Science Tuition at Aberdeen

Welcome to First Class Learning Aberdeen, where we support children and young people in developing their maths, English and science skills and becoming motivated, independent learners.

Our structured learning programmes are designed to align with the school curriculum, helping children strengthen and apply essential skills, address gaps in their understanding and build a secure foundation for future learning. Through regular practice and the application of core skills, we aim to develop children's ability to apply their knowledge across different areas of learning, supporting their progress and achievement at school.

We recognise that every child learns differently and are committed to providing the support and encouragement they need to make meaningful progress. Led by our Centre Manager, Jessica, we aim not only to improve academic attainment but also to build confidence, encourage a positive attitude towards learning and foster a genuine sense of achievement, helping children reach their full potential.

Our centre is conveniently located in Aberdeen city centre, with nearby parking and easy access to public transport.

How we work

We will initially contact you to discuss how we can help your child with maths, English or science. Your child will then complete an initial assessment to identify their strengths, areas for development and the most suitable starting point for their learning. Once we have established your child's needs, we will put together a personalised learning programme to support and encourage their progress. Following the assessment, we offer a free trial session, allowing families to confirm that our programme is right for their needs. If you are happy to proceed, your child can begin attending weekly classes at the centre, typically lasting around 30 minutes per subject. During these sessions, children will complete a short piece of work which will be marked and reviewed with their tutor. They are encouraged to work independently, with guidance and support available whenever needed. They will also receive a tailored programme of homework to complete before their next class, helping to reinforce their learning and consolidate their understanding. We aim to keep parents informed of their child's progress, celebrating achievements and identifying areas where further support may be beneficial.

Jessica Jacob

Centre Manager

Our Centre Manager, Jessica, is a fully qualified primary teacher, holding a PGDE in Primary Education from the University of Aberdeen and full registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS). She also holds a degree in Business Law and Management and brings over ten years of management experience to her role. Alongside her experience in primary education and early learning and childcare, Jessica holds a TEFL qualification and has spent several years teaching English to international students, working with both children and adults. These experiences have given her a good understanding of how learners develop and the importance of adapting teaching to meet individual needs. Jessica strongly believes that every child is unique and has the potential to succeed with the right support and encouragement. She is passionate about inspiring children to recognise their own potential and particularly enjoys watching their confidence grow alongside their academic skills. For Jessica, building positive relationships with learners is central to creating an environment where every child feels valued, motivated and able to thrive.

FAQ

How long will my child attend the centre for?
For one subject, we recommend 30 minutes and for two subjects we recommend 60 minutes per week. This completely depends on the pupil and can be adjusted to suit individuals.
Will my child be working with people their own age?
Your child will either be working independently or with one-to-one support. There is no group work as it is an individual programme of study.
