Linlithgow Cross Tuition CentreAt First Class Learning Linlithgow, we provide high-quality maths and English tuition for children aged 4 to 16.
Our centre is run by experienced teachers Isla Wright and Roddy MacLennan, who are passionate about supporting children to achieve their full potential in a welcoming, supportive environment.
We help learners of all abilities—whether they need help catching up, want to build confidence, or are looking to extend their skills further. Every student follows a personalised programme tailored to their individual needs, aligned to Curriculum for Excellence outcomes and National Curriculum objectives, and designed to boost confidence, close knowledge gaps and encourage independent learning habits.
Whether your child is struggling with core concepts or looking to excel, we’re here to support them every step of the way. With structured daily homework, one-to-one guidance during sessions, and a focus on long-term understanding, we ensure that every child can succeed.
Step 1: Free Assessment Your journey starts with a free diagnostic assessment in maths and/or English. This allows us to understand your child’s current level, highlight areas of strength, and identify any topics they may need extra support with. Step 2: Personalised Programme Based on the assessment, we create a tailored learning plan that supports your child’s progress at the right pace. Our programmes are designed to reinforce school learning, build confidence, and develop strong core skills. Whether your child is in primary school, S1-S3 or studying for National 5 or Higher examinations, we ensure their programme is just right for them. Step 3: Weekly Centre Sessions Students attend the Linlithgow centre once or twice per week at a time that suits your family. Each session lasts around 30 minutes per subject. We introduce the week’s topics and guide your child through examples before they move on to independent work with support close at hand. Small groups and individual attention mean each learner gets the support they need. Step 4: Daily Homework After each session, your child receives a set of short daily homework tasks. This ‘little and often’ approach is proven to help embed learning and build confidence. Homework typically takes 10–20 minutes per subject, and we provide everything your child needs to succeed. Step 5: Regular Feedback and Progress Checks We believe communication with parents is key. That’s why we offer regular updates on your child’s progress and are always happy to discuss how they’re getting on. We also carry out progress checks throughout the year to ensure your child is on track and ready for the next step in their learning journey.
