Our centre

Welcome to the Northampton Kingsthorpe First Class Learning Centre. We have been supporting families in the local community with both maths and English tuition for the past 7 years, we also run classes in a number of local schools funded by the school as well as an adult tuition service (Maths only).

Students of all ages from both state and independent schools, attend our study centre at The Bee Hive, Harborough Road, Kingsthorpe. We cater for learners from age 5 through to GCSE with the pace and content individualised for each student.

Our experienced tutors support your child's learning in maths, English, or both subjects, in order to help with their school studies, build confidence, raise self-esteem and develop independent learning skills for life. Our tutors all hold enhanced DBS certificates.

Our English and maths programmes are tailored to learners' individual needs so students move on only when they are confident with a topic. At First Class Learning we believe in 1% steps to 100% success.

For Adult education, the Maths programme is tailored specifically to ensure attainment of GCSE Maths (Foundation) or Maths (Functional Skills). This will in turn, improve all round employment prospects as well as raising self-esteem for mature students.<br />

How it works

One of our First Class Learning tutors will meet with you to discuss how we can help your child with maths or English. They will then sit down with your child and complete an assessment to determine which path is most suitable for them. Once we have established your child’s needs, we will put together a bespoke course of action that will support and encourage your child’s learning.

If you feel happy with our plan and that we are the best option for you and your child, they will then be able to start attending regular classes at the centre. In these classes they will complete a short piece of work which will be marked, returned and discussed with the tutor, who will give them a detailed programme of homework to be completed before the next class.

Adult Tuition
From the basics of reading, writing and spelling to comprehension and creative writing skills, the First Class Learning English Programme follows principles that make it ideal for all learners, whether primary or secondary. Drawing on a variety of imaginative materials, the programme develops the key skills that allow the learner to read and write fluently, confidently and with enjoyment.
