Our centre

Welcome to the Northolt First Class Learning Study Centre. From the Grand Union Village Hall (UB5 6FP), we support children in the local community with both maths and English tuition.

Students of all ages and abilities attend our study centre. We cater for learners from Early Years and primary (KS1 and KS2) through to secondary education (KS3, KS4 and GCSE).

With the help of our classroom assistants, we will support your child's learning in maths and English, helping to build your child's confidence with their schoolwork and develop their independent learning skills.

From a free diagnostic assessment with our Centre Managers, we create personalised maths and English programmes, tailored to your child's individual needs, with students moving on once they have consolidated their understanding of a topic.

We also offer additional packages for students taking entrance exams, SATs and GCSEs. These packages focus on developing exam techniques and applying skills to exam-style questions, appropriate to their chosen school(s) or exam board. This includes completing relevant papers and receiving detailed feedback, alongside further time at the centre and support from our experienced staff and with the Centre Managers. Both Centre Managers are qualified teachers with many years of classroom teaching and intervention experience.

We are also the owners of First Class Learning Chiswick (Saturdays), Chiswick Park (Wednesdays) and Chiswick Riverside (Thursdays).

How it works

One of the Centre Managers - Atourina or Stacey - will arrange an assessment with you to discuss how we can help your child with maths and/or English. Either in your home or at one of our centres, the Centre Manager will complete an assessment with your child to determine their strengths and areas to improve. Once we have established your child’s needs, we will put together a personalised programme of study that will support your child in the areas they need to develop their understanding and confidence. Once you choose to enrol, your child will start attending your chosen centre once a week. At the centre, your child will focus on a particular skill. With the support of the Centre Managers and our staff, your child will work through their programme, developing their knowledge and understanding. They will also receive short, daily homework tasks to further consolidate and embed the learning from the centre.

From the basics of reading, writing and spelling to comprehension and creative writing skills, the First Class Learning English Programme follows principles that make it ideal for all learners, whether primary or secondary. Drawing on a variety of imaginative materials, the programme develops the key skills that allow the learner to read and write fluently, confidently and with enjoyment.
