Centre Manager Darlington

The First Class Learning Darlington Centre is run by Emma Orton. Emma is an experienced tutor, having worked in education for over 20 years. Emma opened her first tuition centre in July 2011 and now operates 7 learning centres every week.
Emma set up her first First Class Learning Centre in 2011 and has since gone on to open a second within the area. She was looking for an opportunity enabling her to continue her full-time teaching job with more flexibility for her family. Emma explored many options before coming across First Class Learning which was just what she was looking for. Emma chose FCL because it is ‘well structured, offered plentiful support and guidance to get started but at the same time allowed me to run the business my way.’ Along with leaflets and a press release, Emma launched her centre with an open day, with the local Mayor officially opening the centre. This generated a huge amount of interest and Emma signed up 6 students at the open day alone. She now finds the most successful way of bringing in new students is via word of both from her very happy students and parents alike. Emma has 20 5-star reviews on her Facebook page with over 30 recommendations. In the beginning Emma found great success engaging with parents on Social Media.

As well as posting regularly on social media to engage her audience and continue to encourage new interest, Emma produces a monthly newsletter to keep students and parents up to date and interested. Emma has a unique open-door policy, allowing parents to come into class to discuss their child's progress as well as always being available to talk via both phone and email. Emma’s tuition centre operates a ‘refer a friend’ scheme which has proved popular among her students. She would recommend investing the needed time and effort into providing good service, by ‘doing that little bit extra to help your students succeed... The outcome of the ‘little extras’ more often than not results in parents going out of their way to recommend your service to others.’
