Maths and English Tuition at Rugby North

Welcome to First Class Learning Rugby North

At our centre, we are passionate about helping children in the local community thrive in Maths and English. We believe that with the right guidance, support, and confidence, every child can succeed.

Our carefully structured programmes create a personalised learning journey for each child. Whether it’s filling gaps in understanding or extending existing skills, we ensure steady progress that improves school performance, builds confidence, and develops valuable independent learning habits.

What sets us apart is our flexible, tailored approach. Every child learns at their own pace, moving forward only when they feel ready. With continuous feedback and regular assessment, combined with individual support, we track progress closely and make sure strong foundations are built for long-term success.

Our proven “little and often” method encourages regular practice, strengthens understanding, and makes learning enjoyable. Parents can feel confident knowing their child is gaining the skills they need- not just for school, but for life.

How we work

Our First Class Learning Centre Manager will call you to discuss how we can help your child with maths, English, and science. They will then assist your child to complete an assessment to determine which path is most suitable for them. Once we have established your child's needs, we will put together a bespoke course of action that will support and encourage your child's learning.

Centre Manager

I am passionate about supporting children and families in our community. I firmly believe that education has the power to transform lives, and I take great pride in helping every learner develop the confidence, skills and independence they need to succeed. As a Centre Manager, I work closely with our tutors to ensure that children not only achieve academic progress but also grow in confidence and resilience. Our tutors are fully trained to deliver the First Class Learning study programmes. Every First Class Learning Centre Manager holds an enhanced DBS certificate, and together we focus on building strong foundations in maths and English. This step-by-step approach gives children the core skills they need to thrive at school and prepares them for future challenges- including success in the 11+ entrance exams. It is a privilege to be part of this journey, helping children unlock their full potential. I look forward to working with you and your child on this rewarding path.

FAQ

How does FCL differ to 1:1 tutoring?
FCL offers structure and daily practice, with a ‘little and often’ approach, enabling the child to retain what they have learnt and gain confidence with ease. It also develops good study habits and independent learning so that they don’t become dependent on others teaching them.
How will FCL help with my child’s school work?
By filling in any gaps they may have and developing their confidence we can change their attitude to a positive one and at the same time give them the skill sets needed to carry through to all school work.
Can I sit with my child while they do their work at the centre?
If your child is worried about coming into their first session, parents can come in to begin with but you won’t need to stay for long. Once they see the friendly faces and welcoming atmosphere, they are happy to stay on their own. We like to encourage independent and confident students.
If I join, am I tied into FCL for a set amount of time?
No, not at all. FCL is primarily a long term programme, not a 'quick fix'. However, there are many reasons why you may need to stop, so I just ask for a month's notice.
