As a teacher with over 14 years of experience in education, and a mother of 3, I understand the importance of high-quality and personalised support outside the typical school classroom. I can wholeheartedly recommend Gina at FCL. Her approach is engaging and entirely centred around the child’s understanding of what is being taught, meeting the learning needs specific to that child. What sets Gina apart from other tuition centres is her genuine passion for learning and helping children thrive, not just academically, but in terms of their confidence and motivating them too. If I were looking for someone to support my own child’s learning outside of school, I wouldn’t hesitate in placing them in Gina’s care.

Maths and English Tuition at Romford

Welcome to Romford First Class Learning Centre!

Our centre is located in the heart of Romford catering to children aged 5 to 11 years old. We are dedicated to providing a personalised learning experience for your child. We believe that our in-person service, together with materials aligned to the National Curriculum, create a successful formula for your child's progression.

We support the learning objectives for children sitting SATs, and offer additional support for those taking entrance exams such as the 7+ and 11-plus.

Generally, we find that learning in a small group helps children develop confidence and provides a social element to learning. Due to extremely small group sizes, spaces are limited so please get in touch to discuss availability.

How we work

Our First Class Learning Centre Manager will call you to discuss how we can help your child with maths and English. They will then assist your child to complete an assessment to determine which path is most suitable for them. Once we have established your child's needs, we will put together a bespoke course of action that will support and encourage your child's learning.

FAQ

How does FCL differ to 1:1 tutoring?
FCL offers structure and daily practice, with a ‘little and often’ approach, enabling the child to retain what they have learnt and gain confidence with ease. It also develops good study habits and independent learning so that they don’t become dependent on others teaching them.
How will FCL help with my child’s school work?
By filling in any gaps they may have and developing their confidence we can change their attitude to a positive one and at the same time give them the skill sets needed to carry through to all school work.
Can I sit with my child while they do their work at the centre?
If your child is worried about coming into their first session, parents can come in to begin with but you won’t need to stay for long. Once they see the friendly faces and welcoming atmosphere, they are happy to stay on their own. We like to encourage independent and confident students.
If I join, am I tied into FCL for a set amount of time?
No, not at all. FCL is primarily a long term programme, not a 'quick fix'. However, there are many reasons why you may need to stop, so I just ask for a month's notice.
