FCL have personalised lesson plans for maths and English as per your child's requirements. I see positive improvements in both of my children’s writing skills and maths. I used to worry a lot about their learning but that has been taken away. Please send your children there if you want them to be confident in school and in everyday life.

Maths and English Tuition at High Wycombe South

Welcome to First Class Learning High Wycombe South, where children learn to succeed. We are delighted to support children in the local community, of all ages and abilities, with both maths and English tuition.

Every child who wants to join us completes a free maths and English assessment with the Centre Manager. Through our structured programmes, we personalise each child’s learning path, which is targeted to fill any existing gaps in their understanding and promote development of existing knowledge. This helps with their schoolwork, builds confidence, and develops independent learning skills.

Our maths and English programmes are flexible and tailored to learners' individual needs and abilities, so students move on only when they are confident with a topic. Regular testing ensures that the best possible progress is made. The 'little and often' approach, with plenty of repetition and practice, really does make a huge difference.

Special focus and support is available for KS1, KS2, KS3 through to GCSEs, SATs and 11-plus, with the programmes completely aligned with the UK National Curriculum. Get in touch to find out more and book a free assessment today!

How we work

Shikha will complete a free maths and English assessment with your child and provide informative feedback on their strengths and areas to improve. She will also recommend a personalised learning programme to meet your child's needs. If you enrol, your child will attend the High Wycombe South tuition centre once a week. At the centre, your child will be supported as they work through their personalised learning programme. Between their weekly centre visits, they will also receive a programme of daily bitesize homework tasks to further embed and consolidate the learning from the centre.

FAQ

How does FCL differ to 1:1 tutoring?
FCL offers structure and daily practice with a ‘little and often’ approach, enabling the child to retain what they have learnt and gain confidence. It also develops a good study habit and independent learning rather than becoming dependent upon others teaching them.
How will FCL help with my child’s school work?
By bridging gaps and developing confidence, a child’s attitude can become more positive, whilst at the same time our programmes provide them with the skills sets required to transfer through to their school studies.
Can I sit with my child while they do their work at the centre?
If a child is worried about coming along to their first session, we will work with parents to settle them in. However, you will not need to stay for long as once a child has experienced the friendly and welcoming atmosphere, they are happy to stay on their own. We aim to encourage independent and confident students.
If I join, am I tied into FCL for a set amount of time?
No, not at all. FCL is primarily a long-term programme, not a ‘quick fix’. However, there are many reasons why you may need to discontinue, so I ask for just 1 month’s notice.
