Maths and English Tuition at Slough

ARE YOUR CHILDREN DEMOTIVATED AND STRUGGLING WITH THEIR STUDIES FOLLOWING DISRUPTION DUE TO THE PANDEMIC OVER THE LAST TWO YEARS?

Throughout this period, we have maintained momentum by continuing to provide each student with a specifically tailored programme to reflect their individual capabilities, focusing on key maths and English learning objectives based upon the UK National Curriculum. This includes exam preparations using a 'pencil-to-paper' method (as required in school exams), which our students’ parents have termed as a 'healthier option'.

We cater for students from Pre-School through to GCSE, and cover Slough, Burnham, Cippenham, Britwell, Stoke Poges, Farnham Common and Farnham Royal.

Our classes are run on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school at our venue in Slough. We also provide a six-days-a-week Helpline to assist students with their work if required.
In addition to the maths and English Programme, we support good Time Management practices from a young age, as well as helping children develop the skills needed to maintain focus, speed and accuracy which are fundamental for their development. All our staff and students wear masks in the class with temperature checks upon arrival.

With over 23 years' experience, we have maintained a commitment to the successful delivery of tuition to all our students. We are now enrolling with no obligation Free Assessments.

How we work

Our First Class Learning Centre Manager will call you to discuss how we can help your child with maths or English. They will then assist your child to complete an assessment to determine which path is most suitable for them. Once we have established your child's needs, we will put together a bespoke course of action that will support and encourage your child's learning. If you feel happy with our plan and that we are the best option for you and your child, they will then be able to start attending regular classes at the centre or online or online. In these classes they will complete a short piece of work which will be marked, returned and discussed with the Centre Manager, who will give them a detailed programme of homework to be completed before the next class.

FAQ

How does FCL differ to 1:1 tutoring?
FCL offers structure and daily practice, with a ‘little and often’ approach, enabling the child to retain what they have learnt & gain confidence with ease. It also develops good study habits and independent learning so that they don’t become dependent on others teaching them.
How will FCL help with my child’s school work?
By filling in any gaps they may have and developing their confidence we can change their attitude to a positive one and at the same time give them the skill sets needed to carry through to all school work
If I join, am I tied into FCL for a set amount of time?
No, not at all. FCL is primarily a long-term programme, not a 'quick fix'. However, there are many reasons why you may need to stop, so I just ask for a month's notice.
Can I sit with my child while they do their work at the centre?
If your child is worried about coming into their first session, parents can come in to begin with, but you won’t need to stay for long. Once they see the friendly faces and welcoming atmosphere, they are happy to stay on their own. We like to encourage independent and confident students.
