Maths and English Tuition at Nottingham Mapperley

Welcome to the Nottingham Mapperley First Class Learning Study Centre. We support children in the local community with both maths and English tuition.

Our study centre at Westdale Lane Community Centre in NG3 caters for learners from Early Years and Primary through to Secondary. Hannah Webb, Centre Manager, will support your child's learning in maths, English or both subjects together in order to help with their school studies, build confidence and develop independent learning skills.

Our English and maths programmes are tailored to learners' individual needs so students move on only when they are confident with a topic. At First Class Learning we believe in 1% steps to 100% success.

How we work

- Hannah will arrange to call you at a convenient time to discuss how she can help your child with maths or English. - Your child will complete an assessment to determine which path is most suitable for them. - Once your child’s needs have been established, an individualised programme is put together that will support and encourage your child's learning. - If you feel happy with the plan and decide we are the best option for you and your child, they will then be able to start attending regular classes at the centre. - Your child will complete daily worksheets. We encourage this work to be marked so that mistakes can be corrected as they go through the week. - Once a week your child will attend class and complete a short piece of work which will be marked, returned and discussed. Hannah will give them a detailed programme of homework to be completed before the next class. - If they have any problems at home with the work you can contact Hannah

The Nottingham Mapperley First Class Learning Study Centre is run by Hannah Webb. Hannah is fully trained to deliver the First Class Learning study programmes. She also runs the Nottingham West Bridgford Study Centre and Nottingham Compton Acres Study Centre. Hannah has been developing this business together with her parents, Chris and Andy Webb since 2001. They have made this a very family orientated business. Hannah holds an enhanced DBS certificate.

Maths

The First Class Learning maths programme is designed to equip your child with the fundamental skills required for success in school mathematics. Using a range of resources, it covers all the essential areas of the school curriculum.

English

Our English programme concentrates on reading, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, punctuation, creative writing and handwriting. The initial diagnostic testing assesses the child's needs so that we can provide an individualised programme.
