Maths and English Tuition at Swansea Sketty

We are a tuition centre offering maths, English and science designed specifically to meet the needs of students from KS1- KS4. Our programme at FCL Swansea Sketty Tuition Centre is designed to help establish a strong educational foundation for students, making progress along the way. Whether your child is struggling, needs a boost or simply needs to be challenged further, our friendly and approachable team members are here to help.

The programme is well structured, yet flexible to help your child to achieve in these core subjects. Furthermore, the programmes are well aligned to the National Curriculum and our worksheets mirror learning in school.

As an experienced private tutor, over time I have experienced children’s feelings toward maths change through tuition. I have helped them enjoy it while they learn. Many of the children have gained confidence and excelled in their schoolwork in English, maths, and all round.

We are here to help you take your 'diamond' (child), step by step to where they deserve to be – at the top of the ladder in their education. How we work

Once we are contacted, we book a free, no-obligation student assessment. This will determine the level at which your child will start their learning journey with us if he/she were to join us. Upon enrolling, an individually tailored programme is developed for your child, according to their ability and pace. This includes gradually and consistently completing worksheets on each topic to build confidence and mastery. For each new learning area, your child receives individual attention. Every child works according to their own speed, and this encourages confidence. Independent working is also encouraged and developed. Encouragement and support are offered at every step. With this, you and your child begin to see progress and mastery of maths and English skills

With several years of expertise and experience in education both in schools and colleges, I am delighted to be the Centre Manager of Swansea Sketty First Class Learning Centre. I have a BSc (Biochemistry) and MA(Hons) and am fully trained and qualified to deliver the First Class Learning Programmes. I strongly believe EVERY child can excel and achieve success in their education and in life. My belief is that “Anything is possible” and this starts with a strong foundation in Education.

Maths

The First Class Learning maths programme is designed to equip your child with the fundamental skills required for success in school mathematics. Using a range of resources, it covers all the essential areas of the school curriculum.

English

Our English programme concentrates on reading, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, punctuation, creative writing and handwriting. The initial diagnostic testing assesses the child's needs so that we can provide an individualised programme.

Science

Our comprehensive science programme will develop your child's knowledge and the skills required as part of their school curriculum. The programme has a proven record for improving results and encourages enjoyment in learning

FAQ

How do I know my child is progressing?

The programme is planned in such a way that a topic is thoroughly covered by the worksheets and is well mastered before moving on to the next module or topic.

Will there be homework?

Yes, homework is set and provided each week based on the taught topic, to reinforce learning accomplished in the centre. Typically, up to 30 minutes each day.

How will my child be rewarded?

We believe that reward is important in learning. Students are awarded merit stickers, progress prizes, and completion certificates. Tutors will give plenty of praise, support and encouragement to encourage learning and hard work.
