Welcome to First Class Learning in Bedford. We run centres in two locations in Bedford with the second located in the Castle Quarter. You can find details of the Castle Quarter venue by by inserting the following URL into the address bar: www.firstclasslearning.co.uk/bedford-town

Our helpful and friendly staff are specially trained to help your child get the most from their time with us. The centre is run by Andrew Turpie, a teacher for more than twenty years, who has helped hundreds of children achieve success. Since opening in 2012 our centre has a 100% success rate when it comes to our students' GCSE exams. Helping those struggling students to pass exams they weren't expecting to, as well as helping the more able students achieve the excellent grades they desire. We offer a first class service to all of our students from age 4 to 16. In addition to studying maths and English with us you can also study GCSE science.

How we work

Once we have established your child's needs, we will put together a bespoke course of action that will develop and support your child's learning. They will then be able to start attending one of our centres weekly in person or online, where they will complete work in their chosen subject(s). Andrew, Laura or one of our other trained staff will assist your child as they complete this work and ensure that they are confident before any homework is issued. Homework is provided to consolidate work completed in the centre. This is returned for review by the team the following week.

The First Class Learning maths programme is designed to equip your child with the fundamental skills required for success in school mathematics. Using a range of resources, it covers all the essential areas of the school curriculum.

English

Our English programme concentrates on reading, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, punctuation, creative writing and handwriting. The initial diagnostic testing assesses the child's needs so that we can provide an individualised programme.

Science

Our GCSE science programme is separated into the three sciences and arranged by topic area. This enables us to focus the work that we do with your child on those topics that they need the most help with with.
