Welcome to the Coulsdon First Class Learning Study Centre. Sharron Williams, Centre Manager, has an extensive teaching and managerial career spanning over 26 years and is supported by a dynamic well qualified team.
COVID-19 UPDATE:- Due to the Coronavirus, the centre sessions are temporarily closed. We will therefore deliver worksheets to your home. We continue to offer 1:1 or group support remotely for students of all ages, with video or phone calls. Students are provided with a structured and individualised daily plan of worksheets; the expectation is that they spend around 10-15 minutes per day on these to ensure continuous progress is made.
Through our structured programmes, Sharron individualises each child’s learning path, which is targeted to fill any existing gaps in their understanding. This therefore helps with their school work, builds confidence and develops independent learning skills, something that is extremely important in today's busy classrooms in schools.
Our maths and English programmes are flexible and tailored to students' individual needs and abilities so students move on only when they are confident with a topic. Regular testing ensures that the best possible progress is made. The 'little and often' approach, with plenty of repetition and practise, really does make a huge difference.
Through individualised programmes, our expert Centre Manager supports your child's learning in maths, English or both subjects together in order to help with their school studies, build confidence and develop independent learning skills, something that is extremely important in life.
Our First Class Learning Centre Manager will call you to discuss how we can help your child with maths or English. They will then assist your child to complete an assessment to determine which path is most suitable for them. Once we have established your child's needs, we will put together a bespoke course of action that will support and encourage your child's learning. If you feel happy with our plan and that we are the best option for you and your child, they will then be able to start attending regular classes at the centre or online. In these classes they will complete a short piece of work which will be marked, returned and discussed with the Centre Manager, who will give them a detailed programme of homework to be completed before the next class.
