Welcome to the First Class Learning in Enfield Study Centre. We support children and adults in the local community with after-school maths and English learning programmes. Students of all ages attend our study centre based at St Paul's Centre, located at the western edge of Enfield Town. The study centre is accessed from St Paul's own car park, which is on Old Park Avenue.
We cater for learners from Reception, through primary and secondary to GCSE in Maths and to Key Stage 3 in English. Adults who want to improve their Maths are also most welcome. Some starters are nervous of beginning at the study centre so we can offer some one-to-one tuition initially to build confidence before joining the programme at the study centre.
Our programmes are tailored to learners' individual needs, adapted to suit the students as they move through their school curriculum; students are involved in planning their programmes to ensure their study is always relevant and useful. Our staff provide friendly and positive encouragement, enabling students to tackle new and previously worrying topics with new confidence.
Our First Class Learning Centre Manager will call you to discuss how we can help your child with maths or English. They will then assist your child to complete an assessment to determine which path is most suitable for them. Once we have established your child's needs, we will put together a bespoke course of action that will support and encourage your child's learning. If you feel happy with our plan and that we are the best option for you and your child, they will then be able to start attending regular classes at the centre or online. In these classes they will complete a short piece of work which will be marked, returned and discussed with the Centre Manager, who will give them a detailed programme of homework to be completed before the next class.
