Maths and English Tuition at Finchley Park
Welcome to the Finchley Park First Class Learning Centre. We are based in the Greek Cypriot Community Trust centre and help children improve their core skills in both maths and English. Having operated in the North Finchley area for the last 5 years, we have a proven track record of success in helping children of all abilities overcome their learning obstacles and attain high grades at all levels during their school careers.
We welcome children from Reception year all the way up to GCSE level. As all of our pupils have a tailored independent learning programme specifically designed for their needs, they are able to progress through the curriculum at their own pace.
Our fully trained and expert Centre Managers support your child's learning in maths and English in order to help with their school studies, build confidence and develop independent learning skills. The First Class learning programme is fully aligned to the National Curriculum, so you can rest assured that your child will be taught the most relevant topics at the right time.
Our maths and English programmes are tailored to learners' individual needs so students move on only when they are confident with a topic. At First Class Learning we believe in 1% steps to 100% success.
How we work
I (Shamim, Centre Manager) will call you to discuss how we can help your child with maths or English. We will then assist your child to complete an assessment to determine which path is most suitable for them. Once we have established your child's needs, we will put together a bespoke course of action that will support and encourage your child's learning. If you feel happy with our plan and that we are the best option for you and your child, they will then be able to start attending regular classes at the centre or online. In these classes they will complete a short piece of work which will be marked, returned and discussed with the Centre Manager, who will give them a detailed programme of homework to be completed before the next class. We are very 'teaching' focused where we work in small groups of six children to every Centre Manager. Each child is supported through their bespoke learning programme and taught their subjects. All students are regularly assessed to ensure their set work is continually relevant and appropriate for their level.
