The Mitcham Centre is run by experienced Centre Managers who have been in the private Centre Managering business for over 10 years. The centre is held on a Saturday at The Elmwood Centre from 2.30pm to 4.30pm The centre is run by Brinda Vyas.
We are qualified to deliver the First Class Learning study programmes and hold an enhanced DBS certificate.
We have been running our business for over 20 years, 9 years of running Kumon centres and now FCL. We have also been running an after school maths Club in Franciscan Primary School for 6 years. Students also attend our study centres in St Nicholas Church, Church Lane, Tooting SW17 9PP and Upper Tooting Methodist Church, 290 Balham High Road, SW17 7AL. We cater for learners from Early Years and Primary through to GCSE, offering a varied approach including independent learning. The pace and content of the learning is individualised for each student.
Our expert Centre Managers support your child's learning in maths, English, or both subjects together, in order to help with their school performance, build confidence and develop independent learning skills. We even prepare children for their Wandsworth Test for Verbal and non-Verbal.
Our maths and English programmes are flexible and tailored to learners' individual needs so students move on only when they are confident with a topic. All programmes follow the National Curriculum.
Our First Class Learning Centre Manager will call you to discuss how we can help your child with maths or English. They will then assist your child to complete an assessment to determine which path is most suitable for them. Once we have established your child's needs, we will put together a bespoke course of action that will support and encourage your child's learning. If you feel happy with our plan and that we are the best option for you and your child, they will then be able to start attending regular classes at the centre or online. In these classes they will complete a short piece of work which will be marked, returned and discussed with the Centre Manager, who will give them a detailed programme of homework to be completed before the next class.
