Maths and English Tuition at Nottingham Wollaton

Students of all ages can attend our study centre in Wollaton. We cater for learners from Early Years and primary through to GCSE and adult students. We also support learners at key stages and learning milestones.

Our expert Centre Managers support your child's learning in maths, English or both subjects together to help with their school studies, build confidence and develop independent learning skills.

The Maths and English programmes are tailored to learners' individual needs, so students move on only when they are confident with a topic. At First Class Learning we believe in 1% steps to 100% success.

How we work

We will call you to discuss how we can help your child with maths or English. We will then assist your child to complete an assessment to determine which path is most suitable for them. Once we have established your child's needs, we will put together a bespoke programme of learning that will support and encourage your child's progress. The next step will be attending our classes during which your child completes a short piece of work which will be marked, returned and discussed with one of our team. Your child will then be provided with a programme of homework to complete before they attend the next session. This work will be reviewed at the centre on a weekly basis. Most important of all, we make learning as fun as possible.

Centre Manager

The Wollaton Nottingham, First Class Learning Centre is run by Mona and Preeti Sharma, who are fully trained and qualified to deliver the First Class Learning study programmes. Every First Class Learning Centre Manager holds an enhanced DBS certificate. After completing her BSc (Hons) Mona successfully worked within the pharmaceutical industry for over 20 years. She has worked for many of the top names in the industry, and has for the last 3 years worked as a Independent Consultant. The skills that she has gained will be a superb platform to enhance the children's learning at Wollaton First Class Learning. Preeti has a background of working in, running and managing businesses across a number of sectors spanning over two decades. She is looking forward to implementing these skills and experiences, ensuring she gets the very best out of each and every child at Wollaton First Class Learning.

Maths

The First Class Learning maths programme is designed to equip your child with the fundamental skills required for success in school mathematics. Using a range of resources, it covers all the essential areas of the school curriculum.

English

Our English programme concentrates on reading, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, punctuation, creative writing and handwriting. The initial diagnostic testing assesses the child's needs so that we can provide an individualised programme.

Science

Our comprehensive science programme will develop your child's knowledge and the skills required as part of their school curriculum. The programme has a proven record for improving results and encourages enjoyment in learning.

FAQ

How is FCL different from 1-to-1 tutoring?

FCL offers regular practice worksheets, structured to your child’s needs, with comprehensive daily plans guiding children’s weekly learning. Regular practice enables children to grasp and retain what they have learned, and move on, building on this learning. Study habits develop so that children become independent learners, not dependent on others teaching them.
