Maths and English Tuition in Stanmore

Welcome to the Stanmore/Edgware Tuition Centre delivering First Class Learning. The Centre is run by Raxita Kantaria with her flagship Centre in St Johns Wood.

COVID-19 update - The centre is now fully open and is following UK government guidelines to create a a secure learning environment for your child.

Students of all ages are provided with a structured and individualised daily plan of study of around 10-15 minutes per day. 1:1 support is given whenever it is needed by a video call or phone call and weekly results are collected to ensure mastery and fluency.

Raxita supports children of ages ranging from 3 years to 16 years old, from both state and independent sectors in maths and English. By building confidence she enables each child to realise their potential.

Under Raxita's unique instruction the learning content and pace will be individualised to meet your children's personal learning needs, to help them gain confidence in their own abilities and to develop independent learning skills. Your children can harness their new skills to make better progress in their studies at school .

Raxita believes it important that children develop problem solving experience from the early stages and so students are taught from early on how to apply maths to problem solving and are also taught step by step guide to comprehension and creative writing.

How It Works

Raxita will meet with you to discuss how she can help your child with maths and/or English. She will then sit down with your child and complete an assessment to determine which path is most suitable. Once Raxita has established your child’s needs, she will put together a bespoke course of action that will support and encourage your child’s learning. Your child can then start completing the daily worksheets with ongoing support from the Raxita whenever it is needed. Our programme is a partnership between Raxita, your child and you as parents so communication between all is important. We encourage all parents to mark the homework daily so that corrections can be made as they go through the week and their progress will be seen in the results. If they have any problems with the work, you can call Raxita anytime between 10:00 and 17:00, Monday to Friday. Students will be assessed continuously to ensure long term retention and ensure progress is not hindered. When at class, each week during class students complete a short piece of work which will be marked, reviewed and corrections done. The student will then be given homework to practise the skill set covered in class to be completed over the following week.

Student Success

Raxita is a very efficient professional and conscientious teacher. She has a passion for teaching and cares very much for each child and the attention to detail for each individual is very apparent. I’m very pleased with the progress my child has made to date.
Jay Varsani
Raxita and her team are absolutely amazing. Both my children had her support and did extremely well on their exams. My son is a maths lover thanks to her great skills and motherly ways of teaching and supporting. I cannot recommend her classes enough. The system is brilliant but Raxita and her team makes a massive difference.
Elenielle Chemigz
My child really enjoys going to class. It is a very positive learning environment and the teachers are excellent. My child has progressed in both his maths and English and his confidence has increased. The homework set is manageable and it allows my child to reflect and learn. Thank you to Raxita and the team. I would definitely recommend FCL to other parents to support their child's learning.

FAQ

How does FCL differ to 1:1 tutoring?
FCL offers structure and daily practice, with a ‘little and often’ approach, enabling the child to retain what they have learnt and gain confidence with ease. It also develops good study habits and independent learning so that they don’t become dependent on others teaching them.
How will FCL help with my child’s school work?
By filling in any gaps they may have and developing their confidence we can change their attitude to a positive one and at the same time give them the skill sets needed to carry through to all school work.
Can I sit with my child while they do their work at the centre?
If your child is worried about coming into their first session, parents can come in to begin with but you won’t need to stay for long. Once they see the friendly faces and welcoming atmosphere, they are happy to stay on their own. We like to encourage independent and confident students.
If I join, am I tied into FCL for a set amount of time?
No, not at all. FCL is primarily a long term programme, not a 'quick fix'. However, there are many reasons why you may need to stop, so I just ask for a month's notice.
